Use Yoga (and Smileys) to Reduce Stress
Ommmmmm. It’s Thursday and at the Smiley Central office we’re a little stressed out — the weekend is just out of reach and we’ve been working super hard to bring you even more smileys than ever before. We know our hard work will pay off when we hear from our adoring fans (you) how much they like our new smileys, like the Potty Pack now available for download on Smiley Mobile. Until then though, we need to take a few minutes and relax.
Yoga has been around for centuries, but has re-surged as a fad in recent years. Here in New York, you can’t walk through most neighborhoods without seeing several people in workout gear carrying a yoga mat to their local studio. And we don’t know exactly how the Downward Dog and Child’s Pose make us feel so much better, but they really do! In addition to reducing stress, yoga has been promoted as a way to lower blood pressure, encourage better sleep, reduce anxiety and muscle tension and slow the aging process. Right on!
What do you do to de-stress during a hard work week? In addition to yoga, we recommend checking out our smileys at Smiley Central. They’re always good for a laugh! Even better, share some smileys with a friend who’s having a bad day.

Celebrate St. Patty’s Day With a Smiley Pack
This weekend we’ll all be seeing green. That’s right, it’s St. Patrick’s Day. Unfortunately, the holiday falls on a weekend so the Smiley Central office can’t celebrate like we usually do. However, we’re sure that the day will be spent wearing green, eating corned beef and cabbage and celebrating just as we would right here at work. St. Patrick’s Day has been celebrated here in the good old US of A since 1737. The first American celebration for the patron saint of Ireland was held in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1766, New York City held the first official St. Patrick’s Day parade. And since everyone likes to pretend they’re Irish on the special holiday, over 100 U.S. cities now boast St. Patty’s Day parades.
To get your crew of hooligans ready for the holiday, Smiley Central has a special surprise, just for you! Share your excitement for St. Patty’s Day with the Smiley Central St. Patrick’s Day iPhone Smileys. No need to paint yourself green, just download the smiley pack and start sharing with your friends from wherever you may be. It’s the perfect way to be festive and fun from your phone. Download the St. Patrick’s Day Smileys and start sending them to all your friends!

Who Stole the Cookies from the Cookie Jar? Introducing Social Crumbs!
Have you every been craving something in your cabinet? A bag of chips or something sweet? But when you go to get that snack, someone has taken the last of it and you’re left with nothing? We hate when that happens. For example, the other day someone brought in the most delicious chocolate chip cookies to the Smiley Central office. During the day, different people would sneak into the kitchen to grab one of the amazing cookies. All of a sudden, there were no more to go around — they had all been gobbled up! Would it be inappropriate to eat all the crumbs?
Speaking of crumbs, Smiley Central has a great new Facebook page to share with all of our fans. It’s called Social Crumbs. What’s that, you ask? Social Crumbs is basically the best of the best from all your favorite sites like Webfetti, MyFunCards and more all on one central page. Each day, Social Crumbs will share the latest and greatest from these sites — be on the look out for crazy smileys, fun e-cards, FB Timeline pics and more. It’s totally awesome! If you’re as excited as we are, head over to Facebook and like the page ASAP!
Oh, and if you thought this picture meant that we were sharing a yummy recipe for chocolate chip cookies, we’re sorry to disappoint you. But if you want to make some cookies and share them with us, we’ll never say no. Yum!

Channel Your Inner Gangster with Baddies Smiley Pack
An ongoing conversation here at Smiley Central has us thinking about nostalgia. These days, instances of nostalgia are seen everywhere, but nowhere more so than the entertainment industries. Just take a look at this year’s Academy Awards, which aired last Sunday. Nominated movies included Midnight in Paris, which focused on one writer’s desire to live in Paris in the ’20s, and The Artist, which was a throwback to silent films. Some of our favorite television shows these days don’t even take place in the present. Downton Abbey and Mad Men both have a huge fan base. What is it about nostalgia that makes us think everything is cooler in retrospect?
Take The Godfather movies for example. Those dudes in their suits, ties and guns seem so cool, when they were really wreaking some serious havoc on their families and communities. But they just look so awesome when they do it. Now we’re not telling you to go wild, but maybe you could channel a little more of the swagger seen in The Godfather, Mad Men and Downton Abbey to feel more connected with the past. And donning a slick suit or fancy hat never hurt anyone either.

Scare Your Friends with Horror Movie Smileys
If there’s one thing we love at Smiley Central, it’s scary movies. Mostly just because we like to laugh at other people when they get scared (hey, some people’s scary faces are hilarious!). But as much as we love going to see horror films as a group, we have to admit that sometimes we get a little frightened, and may even sleep with the lights on. During lunch today, a group of us were trying to figure out what scary movie we wanted to go see tonight after work. Even though most of the scary movies come out around Halloween, there are some pretty good looking ones in theaters right now!
Devil Inside — This horror film follows a woman (played by actress Fernanda Andrade) who travels to Italy, accompanied by a documentary crew, to investigate rumors that her mother was possessed by the devil as a young child.
The Woman in Black — In this myster/thriller, Daniel Radcliffe (star of the Harry Potter films) plays a lawyer who travels to a remote village where the ghost of a scorned woman is terrorizing the locals.
The Innkeepers — Although this movie has a limited release, it still sounds like something we’d want to see!The inn in question is called The Yankee Pedlar Inn, which is shutting down its doors after 100+ years of service. As very weird guests start checking in during the Inn’s final days, a pair of employees set out to uncover proof that the Inn may be one of New England’s most haunted hotels.
Are you a fan of scary movies? Or just want to scare someone in your office? This Jason-esque smiley (complete with a terrifying chainsaw), will certainly do the trick! Head over to Smiley Central for more free smileys to download for your computer or iPhone!

A Smile for a Smile: Leave Us A Smiley Review
After a long Christmas break, a lot of schools are just getting started on their second semesters. Students are struggling to find their classes, becoming familiar with new teachers, and studying for the inevitable midterms that always come too quickly. One of the best things about second semester is the weather. Although it starts off cold, it’s not long before its warm enough to toss a frisbee between classes and study outside. But school is school, and it’s never really fun — especially when it comes to grades. But here at Smiley Central, we’ve come up with a fun new grading system where you can grade us!
We love sharing our free smileys with you on a regular basis. It makes us happy to create them and we hope that using our smileys makes you smile as well. Now we’re asking our loyal fans (you) to do something for us in return. Take a few minutes to visit our review site and tell us what a great job we’re doing. Whether you prefer the emoticons for your iPhones, smileys for Facebook, or our massive online collection of creations, we want to know! Leaving a fantastic review of our work here at Smiley Central will have us smiling all day long, so please, leave us some love!

Time to Get Ready for Football!
Many thought that the Giants wouldn’t even make it to the playoffs but this past weekend they managed to crush the Atlanta Falcons in their first playoff game! This makes them that much closer to getting another Super Bowl ring! Here at SmileyCentral only some of us are excited about the win!
A couple coworkers decided to watch the game together being that some of us are Giants fans and some are Falcons fans. All of us had been talking all week about stats and who would win the upcoming game. Some were convinced that the Falcons would win some were convinced the Giants would win. Well when the Giants came through with flying colors us Giants fans whipped out our phones and onto Football Smiley Pack. We all chose our favorite look alike Giants smileys then quietly sent it to our Falcons fans and twenty other friends in celebration!
If you have any rivalries coming up this weekend we suggest you go and get the smiley pack for your phone if you don’t have it already! It’s much more polite than doing a victory dance in the middle of the living room!

Keep Smiling Throughout The New Year
Welcome to 2012, everyone! Boy, we’ve been having a tough time getting use to the new date here at Smiley Central. Every day there are emails flying around asking about meetings for January 2011. Like, aren’t we a little late for that meeting?! Every year it seems like we’re stuck writing the wrong date until at least February. Anyway, we hope you all had a safe and happy New Year’s! There’s something really great about a new year, isn’t it? New year, new resolutions, new you. New Year’s resolutions run rampant during the first months of the year, and then begin to taper off. For 2012, the Smiley Central office resolution is to keep bringing you the best smileys out there and keep our readers happy all the way until 2013! Is your resolution to be a happier person? Download Smiley Central so you can create thousands of smileys to keep you going while you work through those tough resolutions!

Forget the Family Pic and Send Cards with MyFunCards.com
Oh BOY are we stuffed! Yes, it is exactly a week after Thanksgiving and there are still leftovers in the Smiley Central fridge. It’s better to be over-prepared than under-prepared we always say. Plus, there is no other holiday where it’s totally ok to gorge yourself on food and watch football, so we’re going to make it last as long as possible. Right? Anyone else out there still celebrating Thanksgiving?
Since it is December, maybe it’s time we toss out the rest of that turkey and starting focusing on the holidays. One of the first things we do each holiday season is sending out the official Smiley Central holiday card. It’s usually a picture of our whole office dressed up in the silliest (and tackiest) of holiday attire, but this year… we just couldn’t get everyone together. So instead, we’re using the crazy-easy MyFunCards.com to send our greetings to our friends and associates. The cards are so easy to make and send and they’re all super fun. Having trouble getting your family or friends together for the official holiday pic like this little photography smiley below? Here’s some advice from Smiley Central: Forget it and head over to MyFunCards today!
